Cronulla Caringbah
Sharks Junior Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1952 and was one of the foundation clubs when the
Cronulla Sutherland Junior League was formed in 1963. In 1964
Cronulla Caringbah's A-Grade side was accepted into the Second Division
competition and in 1967 accepted into Rugby League First Division. |
|
Due to the success of the Junior League within the shire it was decided
that it would be in the best interest of Rugby League to enter this team
as Cronulla-Sutherland. The "Sharks" we know today were born, the only
First Grade team to originate from a Junior Club.
Cronulla Caringbah's Clubhouse is located in the Western Car Park of
Sharks International. In 2006 we will field 26 teams from U6 to A Grade.
In 2006 we fielded 26 teams covering every age group. 12 teams qualified for semi finals,
6 teams progressed to the Grand finals and 4 of those were crowned
Premiers - 11B, 13A, 13C and U18 (1).
Our 7 Reds flew the Club flag in the Tommy Bishop Shield and the beautiful
Rae Loomes, representing as Miss Cronulla Caringbah, won Miss Junior
League at the Junior League Ball.
Cronulla Caringbah once again had players representing the Cronulla
Sutherland District in the Matthews Cup, SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and Premier
League.
While, Corey Stowers, Steve Stewart, Brad Davids and James Crompton were
selected to play South Sydney in the Jack Gibson Cup combined “A” Grade
District team. |
